Preservation & Maintenance

Effective sealing and de-humidification procedures, where each zone has designated routines and procedures to ensure proper care.

PRESERVATION ROUTINE

  • Shutting off the vessel’s equipment; except the emergency fire pump
  • Effective sealing of the following spaces:
    • Accommodation
    • Machinery spaces
    • Forecastle / Stores Area
    • Chain Lockers (if sealing can be achieved)
    • BT spaces (if fitted)
    • Pump-room, Compressor Room
    • Cargo tanks/ Cofferdams / Water Ballast Tanks
  • Dehumidification of above spaces to minimize corrosion to protect electrical equipment
  • Installing anodes on wires around the Vessel to protect the hull
  • Turning equipment to prevent grooving of bearings and / or seizure and component distortion
  • Application of preservative lubricants to external equipment and machinery
  • Regular inspections of machinery and equipment as per best industry practices
  • Monthly condition reports including:
    • Any defects noted during inspection
    • Details of recommended repairs / service
    • Required items for approval from Owners
  • Anchor chain management – 3 monthly

Inventory of hazardous materials (IHM) identifies and documents hazardous materials on board a ship is a crucial requirement for ships weighing over 500 GT and is part of the Hong Kong International Convention (HKC) for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships.

Crew services, on arrival

Signing off crew, transport to ferry wharf/airport at Labuan. We have our own permitted passenger boats for transport of crews to ferry wharf.

 

ACM (asbestos) removal & disposal

Asbestos-containing-materials (ACM), or asbestos-cement (AC) needs to be handled with extreme caution to minimize the release of potentially harmful fibers.

 

Waste oil, sludge removal on arrival (tank cleaning); 
& sustainable garbage collection, disposal

We can make arrangements upon request through reliable Contractors approved by Alam Sekitar (Dept of Environment, Malaysia) and barge services for transport to shores.

We also have our own permitted cargo boat to collect and removal of garbage and dispose to approved disposal sites.
